We warned you: We told you about this earlier this week, but in case you missed it: Both directions of Aurora Avenue North are closed until early Monday morning as workers demolish part of a bridge over Mercer Street. The closures start as you approach the Battery Street Tunnel and eastbound Mercer Street.
Mercer Street is also closed between Dexter Avenue North and Fifth Avenue North until 5 a.m. Monday. The work is part of the continuing Mercer West project by the Seattle Department of Transportation.
Quiet down: Are we done with the noisy part of the July Fourth holiday so that we can use this weekend for less dangerous activities? The noisy part caused injuries and fires from illegal fireworks. So how about a little croquet or badminton in the yard, a visit to the beach or a barbecue. But be careful with the BBQ fire.
Perfect weather: Perfect for those weekend activities mentioned above. Temperatures cool down a bit through Sunday, into the 70s, but climb back into the 80s on Monday. No rain in sight for the next five days.
