SPD: ‘Body’ found in Lake Washington was beaver

Leave it to beaver.

A report that a human body had been found this afternoon in Lake Washington was quickly squelched by Seattle police Harbor Patrol officers. Close examination revealed the “body” was actually the carcass of a beaver.

The beaver was found floating near the the 1500 block of Lake Washington Boulevard South.

Cause of death was not immediately known.
