Sunday memo: Crash investigation . . . Wooden boats . . . The Red Sox are coming!
NTSB on scene: The National Transportation Safety Board has started its investigation of Saturday’s crash of a Boeing 777 at the San Francisco airport. Two passengers on the Asiana flight died in the crash and more than 180 were injured. The NTSB has scheduled a press conference for this morning. Check back for the latest news.
24-hour boats: Vessels built in the past 24 hours will be raced today at 4 p.m. as part of the Wooden Boat Festival at the Center for Wooden Boats on South Lake Union. The “Quick and Daring Race” is one of the last events at the festival, which runs all day and features boat tours and rides, knot tying instruction, pirate tales and live music. See photos from the festival here.
Talk about the weather: Why wouldn’t we with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the 70s and 80s in the week ahead? Get out the sun screen and maybe get out to Safeco Field starting Monday night at 7:10 for the first of four games between the Mariners and the Boston Red Sox, who always draw a big — and boisterous — crowd.
