Teen killed in Sunday crash near Stanwood is identified
A 16-year-old male from Camano Island was killed in a rollover crash near Pioneer Highway and Norman Road on Sunday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony Comstock died of head injuries, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office says. Five others were injured in the noon Sunday crash south of Stanwood, Lt. Jeff Brand of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday. One person was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and the others were taken to area hospitals.
Brand said the vehicle, reportedly a Chevrolet, was traveling west on Pioneer Highway when it left the roadway. Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in the accident, but it is still under investigation, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Monday.
