tues_weather

High and dry: Monday was the 25th straight day without measurable precipitation at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and there’s no rain in the forecast.  The SeaTac record is 51 rainless days, and we nearly hit that last summer, getting to 48. Paid our dues: As a contributor to the $3.3 million raised by school-zone cameras, we’re glad to see the Seattle City Council’s unanimous vote that the money will go toward school-related safety, not just into the general revenue stream.

Opposing pâté practices: If you see sign-carrying protestors outside Amazon.com offices on Terry Avenue North at midday, it’s likely this: Demonstrators are hoping to persuade the online retail giant to stop assisting sales of duck liver foie gras, which they say is made under cruel conditions.

A season revived:  Who owns the longest current winning streak (seven games) in Major League Baseball? Yep, your Seattle Mariners.
