Victim identified in fatal U-District stabbing

The man who died after being stabbed Saturday night at a Jack in the Box parking lot in Seattle’s University District has been identified as Joseph Albert, 22.

Albert died from stab wounds to his chest, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police found the injured man when they responded to a disturbance in the 4700 block of University Way Northeast just before 11 p.m. Saturday. Albert later died at Harborview Medical Center, according to the Seattle Police Department

The events leading up the assault on Albert are still under investigation, police said.

Anyone with information about the stabbing or who may know the identity or whereabouts of a suspect is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Homicide Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
