Witness sought in Lake Stevens slaying
Snohomish County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a witness who may have information about events leading up the June 17 slaying of Phillipa Evans-Lopez in Lake Stevens.
According to statements made by suspect Anthony E. Garver, 25, he and Evans-Lopez, 20, were joined by another person at some point between June 13 and June 16, the sheriff’s office said. Garver described the person as a female around the same age as Evans-Lopez, with blond hair. She may have left behind a sports jersey in the red GMC SUV they were riding in.
Garver, who is from Spokane, was arrested Tuesday at a fast-food restaurant in Everett. He was ordered held without bail Wednesday.
Detectives would like the witness to contact them via the sheriff’s office tip line, 425-388-3845, as soon as possible.
