Woman found on Seattle railroad tracks was homicide victim

A woman whose body was found yesterday morning on a stretch of railroad tracks in Sodo was the vicitm of homicide, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim has been identified as April L. Frederick, 60. She died on Tuesday of blunt-force trauma to the head and neck, the medical examiner’s office said.

Police were dispatched to the scene near Fifth Avenue South and South Spokane Street at 5:22 a.m. after a train engineer reported seeing the body on the tracks.
