Woman wields ax at 3:30 a.m. in Spokane fire station

The Associated Press

Police say a woman entered a Spokane fire station, took an ax from a truck and smashed out two large windows.

It happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Station 3 was occupied at the time and unlocked.

The woman ran toward arriving police with the ax and they subdued her with a Taser.

Police say the 30-year-old woman had been running through traffic, believing she was being chased, and also broke windows on some state vehicles. She was jailed for investigation of burglary and assault.
