1-year-old killed when run over in Everett driveway

A 1-year-old girl was killed this evening in Everett when she was run over by a car backing down a driveway.

A police news release said the driver was a man, but officers don’t know what relationship, if any, he had with the child. It’s unclear whether the child lived at the home on First Place West¬† where the incident happened.

Officers’ attempts to resuscitate the child at the scene were unsuccessful. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives say the man did not appear impaired. They will continue to investigate.

More details will be provided as they become available.
