Idaho man gets 30 years, offered toddler for sex

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 41-year-old Boise man who pleaded guilty to placing a Craigslist ad offering sex with a 3-year-old girl that he also sexually abused has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.

The Idaho Statesman reports Jason Lloyd Schaber was sentenced Tuesday for sexual exploitation of children and felony distribution of sexually explicit images of minors.

U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge told Schraber his was one of the most “insidious and heinous” cases he’s seen in 50 years on the bench.

Schaber was arrested in May 2012 for placing an ad in the “Casual Encounters” section of Craigslist offering the toddler for sex. A man who responded to the ad called police after learning the girl was 3.

Court records said Schaber’s computers contained videos of him having sexual contact with the girl.
