Lynnwood SWAT team responds to man barricaded in apartment

UPDATE 7:39 p.m.| The Everett Herald reported the man was arrested about 7:15 p.m. and no one was hurt.

ORIGINAL POST | Tuesday evening, a Lynnwood Police Department SWAT team responded to a man who had barricaded himself in his apartment and was waving a gun at police from the doorway, said Shannon Sessions, spokesperson for the Lynnwood Police Department. The suspect was a 43-year-old man in the 6100 block of 208th Street Southwest, she said.

A neighbor of the suspect called police when screams started coming from the apartment. The man met arriving Lynnwood police officers at his door with a weapon, Sessions said. Police blocked off the area and evacuated the neighboring apartments, calling in the SWAT team to try to get the man out of the apartment safely.
