Man arrested after allegedly ramming medical center with truck

A man who had been involuntarily committed on a temporary mental health hold two days ago was arrested this morning after he allegedly rammed a truck into a medical center seveal times and then tried to smash a deputy’s patrol car, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jason Stanley said the man, who is known to deputies in the Burien-area as having  mental health issues, was taken into custody without injury.

The ramming happened around 7 a.m. Deputies followed the suspect, stopping him at Southwest 146th Street and 4th Avenue Southwest , Stanley said.

Highline Medical Center officials are assessing the damage to the building.
