Stranded boater rescued from island in Snohomish River
A boater who became stranded on a small island in the Snohomish River has been rescued, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.
The man’s boat apparently hit a snag in the river and overturned this afternoon, tossing him in the water, the sheriff’s office says. The man, who was wearing a life jacket, made his way to a small island near the 13700 block of Short School Road.
Members of the sheriff’s dive team reached the man and took him off the island. He was not injured.
