Officials identify victims of Montana motorcycle crash as Ephrata couple

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Officials in eastern Montana have identified the Washington state residents killed in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 12.

The Rosebud County coroner’s office says 57-year-old Donald Jeffrey Smith and 55-year-old Patricia Ann Smith of Ephrata died Tuesday afternoon after their motorcycle struck a trailer being pulled by a motorcycle in front of them.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the driver of the first motorcycle was slowing down to pull over. The 63-year-old driver and his 61-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital.

The patrol says none of the four riders was wearing a helmet.
