Police seek motive in fatal Lynnwood stabbing

Lynnwood police are trying to determine a motive for this morning’s stabbing that left one man dead and a second in custody.

Officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a house in the 5400 block of 204th Street Southwest shortly after midnight, according to the police.

Witnesses said that the suspect, a 35-year-old man from Snohomish County, had stabbed the victim and then fled on a bicycle. The victim, a 33-year-old Lynnwood man, and the suspect knew each other, but neither lived in the house, police said.

Police located the suspect about 12 blocks from the apartment and arrested him for investigation of homicide.
