Woman accused of stabbing mother in family’s Bellevue apartment

A 23-year-old Bellevue woman was booked into the King County Jail on investigation of domestic violence assault, accused of  stabbing her mother inside their Bellevue apartment, according to police.

The suspect’s 45-year-old mother was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with several non-life threatening wounds, according to police spokeswoman, Carla Iafrate.

Police responded to an apartment in the Highland Village complex in the 14500 block of Northeast 8th Street at 9:15 p.m. and discovered that the 23-year-old had fled the scene, Iafrate said in a news release. The motive for the stabbing is not known, but officers located the suspect about an hour later, a few blocks away from the apartment complex, Iafrate said.
