2 UW students robbed at gunpoint this morning near campus

Two University of Washington students were robbed at gunpoint early this morning, the second mugging near the UW in the past week, police said.

Two men were walking in the 5000 block of 18th Avenue Northeast around 1 a.m. when they were approached by another man who pointed a black handgun at them and said he wanted “all their stuff.”  The victims raised their hands and the armed man went through their  pockets, police said.

The robber took cash from the victims’ wallets, a cell phone from one victim and smashed a second cell phone belonging to the second victim, according to police.

The victims were not injured.

On Sunday night, two other UW students were robbed in the 5000 block of 17th Avenue Northeast, according to UW Police.
