UPDATE: Domestic violence suspect surrenders after standoff
UPDATE AT 9:16 A.M.: Police say the suspect has surrendered without incident. The 39-year-old man will be booked into jail on investigation of felony domestic-violence assault.
ORIGINAL POST: Seattle police are involved in a standoff with a domestic violence suspect in the 700 block of North Motor Place, according to an SPD Tweet.
The suspect reportedly assaulted his grilfriend around 4:30 a.m., police said. The man then barricaded himself inside the woman’s townhome.
The victim is safe and with police. SWAT team and negotiators are also at the scene, police said.
The suspect is also wanted on an arrest warrant from a previous incident, police said.
