UPDATE: 8:40 p.m. | The second suspect in a burglary of an 82-year-old Edmonds woman was arrested by police after a cab driver who picked him up reported him, according to a police news release.

ORIGINAL POST | Two men burglarized and attacked an 82-year-old Edmonds woman in her house in the 22800 block of 75th Avenue West this afternoon, according to an Edmonds police news release.

The release said the woman returned home to find two men in their 40s inside. The men attacked her when she walked in and ran away, the release said. The woman was treated by responders and didn’t need to go to the hospital.

Officers found and arrested one of the suspects trying to hide nearby, the release said, and they recovered a backpack with some of the woman’s stolen possessions in it. The second suspect ran west across Highway 99, and a 30-minute search for him by Edmonds police, Mountlake Terrace police, Brier police, Snohomish County deputies, Lynnwood police and a Lynwood K-9 unit was unsuccessful, the release said.

Edmonds police detectives are continuing the investigation and interviewing the victim, witnesses and the arrested suspect, the release said. They are attempting to identify the outstanding suspect.
