Kent man, 21, arrested in August bank robbery in Renton

Police on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old Kent man suspected in the robbery of a US Bank in downtown Renton last month, a police news release said.

The man is suspected of entering the bank on Aug. 23 around 3 p.m., approaching a teller and presenting a note claiming he was armed and demanding money, the release said. The bank employee handed the robber an unknown amount of cash, and he walked out, the release said.

Renton police Special Enforcement and Directed Enforcement Teams arrested the man Thursday afternoon near his residence, the release said, and he remained in custody as his case awaited King County prosecutors.
