Man arrested after hiding under car in standoff with Seattle police
A standoff with a man who hid under a parked car after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend ended peacefully this morning when the man was coaxed from his hiding place and arrested, police said.
Seattle police said they got a call around 8 a.m. Saturday reporting that a man had stabbed his girlfriend in the hand during a fight at an apartment in the 12700 block of Lake City Way Northeast. The man fled, and police say they found him hiding under a parked car in the complex’s garage. He refused to come out, according to police.
Police said the man was believed to be armed with a knife and possibly a gun.
The suspect surrendered after SWAT team officers arrived and he was taken into custody without further incident, according to police. He will be booked into King County Jail for investigation of felony domestic-violence assault, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where she was being treated for a wound that is not life-threatening, police said.
