Man arrested in attempted burglary in Lynnwood

Lynnwood police arrested a man on suspicion of attempted burglary Tuesday afternoon after he went into a home, confronted the homeowner and then holed himself up inside, a news release said.

The man walked into the residence in the 5500 block of 168th Street Southwest just after 1:30 p.m., according to the release. The surprised homeowner left and police began an hours-long stakeout while the suspect loaded possessions in the house into the car in the garage, the release said.

Finally, around 5 p.m., the suspect was arrested, “without injury or incident,” the release said.

Lynnwood police detectives are continuing to investigate.
