Man fatally stabs himself following report of theft in Shoreline

It appears a man fatally stabbed himself this morning in Shoreline, says the King County Sheriff’s Office

At 9:23 a.m., a caller phoned 911 to report that a man may have taken a pair of sunglasses from his truck  in Shoreline. The caller said he approached the man, who then pulled out a knife, the Sheriff’s Office said.

When deputies arrived, they found the man on the ground, suffering from several knife wounds. They also found a knife near him.

The sheriff’s office says it appears the wounds were self-inflicted. The man died at the scene.

The sheriff’s office provides police services to the city under contract, although officers wear Shoreline uniforms and drive patrol cars marked “Shoreline police.”
