Police investigating assault in Pioneer Square

Detectives are looking for suspects in the assault of a 37-year-old man in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhoood early Saturday morning.

The beating happened around 1:30 a.m. at First Avenue South and South Jackson Street when the man and his wife encountered two men having an argument, according to Seattle police.

Officers were told that the two suspects turned on the man after he said something to them.  They punched him in the head multiple times, knocking him to the ground, then kicked him in the head before fleeing in a black, four-door sedan, witnesses said.

The man was unconscious and bleeding from the head when officers arrived on the scene. Medics took him to Harborview Medical Center. There was no word on his condition.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact Seattle police.
