UPDATE: 5 p.m. | A new reading at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has the high at 93 degrees now, up from 91 earlier today.
ORIGINAL POST | Today’s heat in Seattle reached 91 degrees, breaking a record high for the day of 87 set in 2009.
That observation, taken at 4 p.m. at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, could even see a bump of a degree or two before the end of the day, said Josh Smith, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service.
Tonight should drop down to a low around 60. Then tomorrow morning, some areas of fog are expected to gradually clear, and the high should be 78, the weather service reports.
The air is expected to be a little less muggy the rest of the week. No rain in the forecast, though — at least not until Sunday, when there’s a chance of showers that could continue through next week.
