Shots fired inside Belltown bar

Seattle police arrested a 22-year-old man after shots were fired inside a Belltown bar about 1 a.m. today, as the bar was closing. No one was injured.

Police said a man fired shots inside Cellars Restaurant & Lounge in the 2100 block of First Avenue. Officers saw the suspect run out of the club, according to police spokeswoman Renee Witt, and chased him to the 2100 block of Western Avenue, where he was arrested.  The suspect apparently dropped a 9mm handgun on the sidewalk and one of the bar’s bouncers stepped on the gun until officers could retrieve it, according to Witt.

The man was booked into the King County Jail for a weapons violation.

Bullet holes were seen in the bar’s ceiling, police said.
