Thursday Memo: Big rain … Half-naked boat guy … Tunnel toll poll

National Weather Service forecast

National Weather Service forecast

Like wet weather? Heavy rain, mountain drenchings and floods, oh, my. It may be sunny today, but just wait until tomorrow and the weekend. Heavy rain is forecast for Western Washington and in the mountains. Rainfall could be 2 to 4 inches from Friday to Monday down here and 5 to 8 inches in the Cascades and Olympics, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Some rivers could flood, too. Yikes.

Now here’s a surprise: Police say half-naked man was high during Seattle boat ramming. Duh!

The cost of driving through the yet-to-be completed Highway 99 tunnel: Tolls ranging from $1 to $1.25 just might do the trick to raise needed money without diverting as much traffic to downtown surface streets. Do you plan on using the new tunnel when it’s completed, or will you avoid it and take another route? Vote in our poll? (Mobile users can vote here.)
