Washington State Fair opens in Puyallup today
Umbrellas were up in the final hour of preparation for the 17-day Washington State Fair — formerly called The Puyallup Fair — which opened at 9 a.m. today. “We’ll be going through a lot of hot coffee,” said Reina Young, manager of BigFoot Java, located just inside the fair’s Gold Gate. She’s making sure she has 12 large pots of coffee ready to go today. The rain is expected to ease through the day, and some sunshine is expected over the weekend.
