Armed robber escapes in South Seattle
A man with a knife robbed a beauty-supply store in the 1900 block of Rainier Avenue South this afternoon, escaping with cash after swinging his knife at a female employee at the store, Seattle police said.
Police said the suspect walked into the store and brandished a knife at about 1 p.m. He confronted the employee, demanded money, and then swung at her with the blade before leaving with cash from the register and the keys to the store, according to police.
The woman ran from the store screaming, prompting a witness to call 911, police said. Only a vague description of the robber was available. Police said they welcome any tips about the incident or the identity of the suspect.
