HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — The Washington County sheriff’s office says a Beaverton woman who was driving erratically led deputies on a 35-mile chase, with 27 of those miles on only three tires.
One tire was punctured by a spike strip and disintegrated as the woman continued to drive Thursday night, with sparks flying. Deputies eventually rammed her car with a PIT maneuver on Highway 26.
Deputies say alcohol was not a factor and they don’t know why the 43-year-old was driving erratically and refusing to stop. She was jailed on charges of attempting to elude, attempted assault, and reckless driving.
