Broken water main fixed, Monroe schools to reopen

The Associated Press

MONROE — A broken water main that caused two elementary schools to close Tuesday in Monroe has been repaired.

With service restored, the Chain Lake and Salem Woods schools will be back on schedule Wednesday.

KIRO reports about 75 homes also were without water after a 12-inch main broke about 3:30 a.m. The water flooded streets and the garage and crawlspace of one home.
