A King County sheriff’s car struck the driver’s side of a car driven by a 17-year-old early Sunday morning, and the driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries.
The deputy was taken to Valley Hospital with a broken wrist, said Cindi West, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
She said the two cars entered the intersection of South 196th and 68th South in Kent at about the same time. The intersection does have a traffic light.
The patrol car was traveling south on 68th South. An Acura with the 17-year-old and two passengers was going east on 196th.
There were no indications of alcohol or drugs at the scene, West said.
