Everett girl, 14, seriously injured after being hit by car on sidewalk

A 14-year-old Everett girl was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries after being hit by a car on the sidewalk near the intersection of 112th Street and Seventh Avenue SE, according to Everett police.

A Toyota Camry, driven by a 48-year-old and headed west, veered into the sidewalk after being hit by a Chevy Suburban, driven by a 16-year-old turning east, around 2:40 p.m., police spokesman Aaron Snell said.

The Camry hit a third vehicle and then a building and the girl before rolling and landing upside down in a gap between the sidewalk and the building, Snell said.

Westbound 112th Street was closed as Everett police investigated; one eastbound lane was open. Traffic on southbound Seventh Avenue was being diverted east to 112th, police said.
