Principal attacked by student at Nathan Hale: Coming on the heels of attacks in schools, some fatal, we don’t like to hear that a local high-school student has assaulted a principal. The principal wasn’t seriously hurt and the student was arrested.
Cemetery vandalism: We scratch our heads and wonder why people do this. A 21-year-old man in Camas has been arrested in connection with knocking over — and breaking a few — headstones in a cemetery. Many of the headstones were in the cemetery’s pioneer section. Some other people might also have been involved in the vandalism. Like we said, we wonder.
We’re waiting for word on the cause of death. You’ve likely heard that former UW football star Reggie Rogers was found dead at his Central Area home yesterday. Rogers had a long history of alcohol abuse. He was 49.
Mars Hill on the move? Actually, the church wants to move to a Sound Transit-owned site in Bellevue. The church is asking members and supporters to email Sound Transit and suggest the agency put its rail yard somewhere else.
Immigration rally today: Immigrants and advocates plan a rally outside the Bank of America building on Fifth Avenue in downtown Seattle. Their goal is to pressure the bank and other big corporations, which they say are major contributors to key Republicans in Congress, into demanding action from those leaders on immigration reform.
