Man loses fingers in blast near Graham

GRAHAM, Pierce County (AP) — The Pierce County sheriff’s office says a man blew off several fingers and injured his face and eyes when an explosive device went off in his hand.

The man was attempting to throw the explosive into a pond Tuesday near Graham.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer told The News Tribune a bomb squad found five more of the homemade bombs in the man’s car.
