Monday Memo: Man hit by bus … Sunny day, cold night … Seahawks tonight

A Metro bus struck a pedestrian this morning, and the man is dead. We’ll have details soon.

Sun,sun, sun … and then a freeze? Sun is in the offing for today, tomorrow and maybe a bit on Wednesday. But get this: The temperature could drop to near freezing overnight. Yikes! National Weather Service forecast

The Hawks travel to St. Louis for a 5:40 p.m match-up. You can catch the action on ESPN and KONG.

Meanwhile, the Sounders might have ended the regular season with a win, but they didn’t. … They finished with a 1-1 tie against the Galaxy. Big crowd last night though: more than 66,000 fans at CenturyLink Field.

Apparently cheating isn’t just for kids: The state police academy is looking into the circulation of material from an unauthorized study guide containing test questions and answers. The academy is operating as if all tests have been compromised, and all academy tests are going to be rewritten.  Academy director Sue Rahr is not happy. Seattle Times staff reporter Steve Miletich has the story.

The Walmart in Poulsbo threw away $19,000 worth of meat as a precaution after a customer found a syringe stuck in a package of sausage Friday. The syringe had no needle and was dry inside. No one was believed to be injured. Police arrested a man Saturday in connection with the incident. The Kitsap Sun has the story.
