Big game day: It’s Dawgs versus Ducks in the rain today at Husky Stadium, and the excitement started early and was amped up by the appearance of “College GameDay,” ESPN’s pregame show that is in Seattle for the first time in its 19-year run. Set up in Red Square on the University of Washington campus, the TV on-air crew has an active background of waving signs mostly saying encouraging things about the UW’s football team (ranked 16th in national polls) and appalling things about Oregon’s (ranked No.2). The actual game? That starts at 1 p.m.
Big rain day: Whether you’re playing football, at the stadium watching it or doing any other outdoor activity today, plan on doing it in the rain. That’s the forecast for today, but the week coming up looks very nice: clear, with temperatures in the high 60s by Thursday and Friday.
Big insurance questions: If you have them about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and want to talk to a real, live human being, head out to the Third Place Commons, 17171 Bothell Way, N.E. in Lake Forest Park. Public Health – Seattle & King County is putting on the event, which will allow people to learn more about Washington Heathplanfinder, compare health-care plans side by side and find out whether financial help might be available. It’s from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. To enroll, you’ll need to have your Social Security number and information on your income.
