Skateboarder injured and trapped after smashing van window
A skateboarder suffered serious injuries on Sunday night after a minivan rode over him and trapped him in North Seattle.
At 5 p.m. a male pedestrian attacked a man’s blue minivan with a skateboard at the intersection of 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 80th Street.
The skateboarder apparently blocked the path of the minivan at the traffic light and yelled racial slurs at the driver of the van, Seattle police stated. The pedestrian then shattered the vehicle’s windshield with his skateboard.
The minivan rolled forward and ran over the pedestrian, who then became trapped. Bystanders picked up the rear of the minivan and pulled him to safety, according to police.
The pedestrian was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. Seattle police continue to investigate the accident.
