Police have released this sketch of the man who attempted to abduct a young girl, and possibly a second child, last weekend in Federal Way.
The first victim, an 8-year-old girl, told police she was crossing the playfield at Brigadoon Elementary School, 3601 S.W. 336th St. around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when a stranger asked her if she wanted candy. The girl refused and attempted to run away but stumbled, police said.
The man grabbed her from behind, but she scratched and bit the man’s hands, causing him to let her go, police said. She was then able to flee.
On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., a man with a similar description tried to abduct a 7-year-old boy from the same location, police said.
The second incident is still being investigated to determine if the two cases are related, police said. The man is described as between 30 and 50 years of age. He had a “reddish/purple” baseball hat that was worn sideways, a red bandana around his neck, a blueT-shirt, tan “tight” pants and black shoes.
