Woman crashes car into basement of North Seattle home

A 79-year-old woman visiting a friend in North Seattle early Sunday morning crashed her car into the basement of a home next door, the Seattle Fire Department confirmed.

Neither the woman nor the residents of the house were injured.

The driver said that she didn’t know how the crash occurred, that she was scared and climbed out through the driver’s side window.

The fire department pulled the car out of the basement of the house, which suffered some structural damage.
