Body of missing man found in car in Columbia River

The Associated Press

BREWSTER, Okanogan County — The body of a missing Bridgeport man was found in a car partly submerged in the Columbia River near Brewster.

The Douglas County sheriff’s office says the body of 81-year-old Gordon B. Beadell was found Tuesday downstream of the Brewster bridge.

Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal says it appears Beadell missed the turn onto the bridge and went over an embankment. He was not wearing a seat belt. The car landed upside down.

The Wenatchee World reports Beadell had been reported missing Nov. 12 and deputies said he had dementia.
