A man in a checkered hoodie robbed an Alaska Credit Union branch in broad daylight today after handing a teller a note in which he demanded cash and claimed to possess a gun, according to Edmonds police.
The suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash from the bank branch, located inside a Safeway store in the 23000 block of Highway 99, police said.
The robbery occurred at about 1:22 p.m., and the suspect was still at large as of this evening, according to police.
Witnesses told police the suspect was an Hispanic man in his early 20s, about 5’7″ tall, with a slight build, brown hair, a scruffy beard and a slight mustache. He was wearing a hoodie with large squares, a white tee-shirt, and white and gray tennis shoes, police said.
After leaving the bank, the man fled south on foot through the grocery store parking lot.
