Seattle medics were in the back of an ambulance with a patient in Pioneer Square on Friday night when a man with a knife opened the doors and tried to climb in, according to the Fire Department.
Medics were dispatched to a report of a man having chest problems near the intersection of Second Avenue and Main Street around 8:30 p.m., said Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Sue Stangl.
They were treating the patient when the man with the knife opened the back doors and tried to force his way in, she said. She did not have details, but said police were called and the man was disarmed and taken into custody.
Police were not immediately available for comment.
Stangl said no one was injured and the Fire Department medics were able to finish caring for the heart patient.
