Man flees from East Wenatchee police but leaves behind clue

The Wenatchee World

EAST WENATCHEE — A man who ran from police Monday afternoon got away — but probably not for long.

The man dropped his wallet as he bailed out of his car, said Dan Reierson, East Wenatchee’s assistant police chief.

An officer attempted to stop the man’s car for a traffic offense near the 1300 or 1400 block of Grant Road, but the car raced off, Reierson said. The man drove a few blocks before running from the car in the 900 block of First Street Southeast.

Police retrieved the wallet, which contained the man’s identification, and impounded the man’s car, Reierson said.

They expect to find the 36-year-old East Wenatchee man soon.
