Teen severely injured in Greenwood collision; driver arrested

A 19-year-old man was arrested last night following a two-car collision in Greenwood that left another teen with life-threatening injuries, Seattle police said.

A BMW SUV driven by the suspect was heading north on Third Avenue Northwest just before 11 p.m. when it collided with a Subaru wagon at Northwest 90th Street.

A 17-year-old passenger in the Subaru was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said. Two adults in the Subaru suffered minor injuries and were also hospitalized.

Officers determined the driver of the BMW was under the influence of drugs, police said. He was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
