Bellingham police testing body cameras

The Associated Press

BELLINGHAM — Bellingham police will test body-mounted cameras that can provide audio and video records of encounters between officers and the public.

Police Chief Clifford Cook told the city council three officers will test the cameras before a decision is made on whether to adopt them.

The Bellingham Herald reports the Bellingham Police Guild supports the camera evaluation but is concerned about the time it could take to review and download video.
