Need a ride to the airport next week?
If you’re flying out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Dec. 23rd or 24th and need a ride to the airport, you can request a lift through Uber ride service and Alaska Airlines will pay the tab.
To take advantage of the promotional offer, open the Uber application, which is available for Android and iOS devices, on Monday or Tuesday and request a ride.
Credit card information is required, but the cost of the ride — up to $50 — will be charged to Alaska Airlines, according to Uber, a San Francisco-based ride service company. If the cost of the ride is more than $50, the balance will be charged to the credit card.
There is no tipping with Uber rides, according to the San Francisco-based company that connects riders with vehicles for hire.
“Holiday travel can be stressful, so we’re excited to bring a little joy to the season by making it really easy for customers to get to the airport and begin their holiday vacations,” Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing, said in a news release.
Riders are cautioned to leave plenty of time to arrive at the airport as Uber expects to be busy, according to a promotional news release.
The promotion limits the offer to one ride per person and does not apply to people needing rides from the airport.
The company warns that the offer is good only “while supplies last” and did not say how many drivers and cars would be available for riders on the 23rd and 24th.
