Friday Memo: Snow to rain … Vice principal resigns … DSHS error

Snow is falling. As you probably know! This is not the major snow event many feared, but it can make for a troubling commute. The best news is that all this will turn to rain by noon. Get the latest here.

The vice principal asked to resign at Eastside Catholic:  Mark Zmuda married his same-sex partner and he was subsequently  asked to leave his job because it violated Catholic teachings. A poll on this story posted yesterday asked readers if they agreed with the decision that he resign. Of the more than 5,500 people who voted, 4,720 people said they did not.

DSHS sends personal info to wrong households: The majority of the private information the state agency sent to the wrong people consisted of the client’s name, address and identification number, but some of it included home phone numbers, contact information, date of birth, Social Security number, medical diagnosis or disability, other medical, chemical dependency or treatment information, employment or earnings information, and what public-assistance services the client was receiving.
