Monday Memo: Snow and cold … Amazon drones poll … House fire

Snoqualmie Pass was closed for six hours this morning due to bad weather, downed trees and collisions, says WSDOT. It reopened about 6:30 a.m.

Speaking of weather, it’s going to be cold this week, and we could see some snow mixed with rain at lower levels and some accumulation in the higher hills. Winter is only weeks away. Did we say cold? The highs for tomorrow and Wednesday will be at or around freezing.

Amazon says it could have packages delivered by unmanned drones in four to five years. We imagine that will cost plenty for customers. Is Amazon’s plan a good idea? Vote in our poll.

There was a house fire in the 9700 block of First Avenue Northwest in Seattle this morning. Three people in the house and a firefighter suffered minor injuries.

Clipper story is a doozy. How a guy managed to get aboard a Victoria Clipper and take it out into the bay makes you wonder about security on the waterfront. Police did put surveillance cameras along the Elliott Bay shoreline awhile back.

Seahawks tonight at CenturyLink Field: A few things to know: Seattle is 10-1, and the Saints are 9-2. Heavy traffic will choke the area. Kickoff is at 5:40 p.m. Seattle will be without three of its four cornerbacks. It’s going to be cold, so bundle up.
